The Nicklaus Painted Valley Golf Course was designed in a links style, at 8,098 yards, the course has earned recognition as the toughest course in Utah and was ranked as the 3rd Best New Private Course in the country by Golf Digest Magazine in 2008. The front nine leads players down and back up Promontory's Painted Valley, with natural walls framing both sides of the fairways. On the back nine, golfers will find themselves playing in a high meadow with flatter terrain. The final five holes present a challenge with their water features, while holes six through 13 offer panoramic views of Park City's three world-class ski mountains. The tee-to-green game on this course is an adventure, with bent-grass greens, full of mounds, rolls, swales and runoffs.
