Promontory kicked off the summer season with our Annual Memorial Day Home Tour. 24 homes participated, and two of those were under contract by the end of the weekend.  With the inventory of completed homes at an all-time low, more and more buyer are choosing to build their dream home. Park City, Utah - April 26, 2013 – Park City Board of REALTORS® just released statistics for the first quarter of 2013 showing the number of sales are up 17% from the first quarter of 2012. The sales dollar volume is up 28% over the same time-period last year, climbing from $239 million in Q1 of 2012 to over $306 million for Q1 of 2013. With 402 closed sales already this year, Mark Seltenrich, Statistician for the Park City Board of REALTORS® said, “This is the best first quarter we have seen since 2007.”

The current inventory of active listings in the greater Park City area is lower than it has been since 2006.  As of April 1st, there has been a 21% decrease in listings since April 1st of 2012. The current number of listings is down 47% since

Housing Market Tilting Toward Sellers?

Realtors and brokers agree: the Park City housing market is on the road to recovery. Seller and buyers are negotiating more, looking for the compromise rather than selling below home value or demanding bottom-dollar prices up front.

According to the Park City Board of Realtors, the Park City area just experienced its highest number of sales and sales pending of any first half of the year since 2007, before the housing market crash. A total of 486 properties were sold since the start of the year with a total sales volume of $347,392,785. In 2007, the first half of the year's sales topped 610, a time when home prices were at their highest. PCBR statistician Mark Seltenrich said the
