Vail Resorts enters into a long-term lease with Talisker for first mountain resort in Utah.

Canyons will be included in the Epic Season Pass for the 2013-2014 winter season.


BROOMFIELD, Colo., May 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Vail Resorts today announced that the Company has entered into a long-term lease with affiliate companies of Talisker Corporation for Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah. Park City, Utah - April 26, 2013 Park City Board of REALTORS just released statistics for the first quarter of 2013 showing the number of sales are up 17% from the first quarter of 2012. The sales dollar volume is up 28% over the same time-period last year, climbing from $239 million in Q1 of 2012 to over $306 million for Q1 of 2013. Housing Market Tilting Toward Sellers?

Realtors and brokers agree: the Park City housing market is on the road to recovery. Sellers and buyers are negotiating more, looking for the compromise rather than selling below home value or demanding bottom-dollar prices up front.

According to the Park City Board of Realtors, the Park City area just experienced its highest number of sales and sales pending of any first half of the year since 2007, before the housing market crash. A total of 486 properties were sold since the start of the year with a total sales volume of $347,392,785. The First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit is about to expire on November 30, 2009. The tax credit which is up to $8,000.00 is available to any home buyer who has not owned a home in the past three years. Congress introduced the program in February as part of the Stimulus Package.

Currently there are approximately 20 proposed bills in the House and Senate to extend and/or expand the credit, some with expansion of the credit, and other bills with restrictions and limitations that do not exist in the current law. Buyers for Mid-Range Homes Can't get Loans

As predicted, real estate sales volume was way down this spring according to the First Quarter Report from the Park City Board of Realtors released this week.

Sales volume in the first quarter was $146.4 million as compared to $321.3 million the same time last year in Summit and Wasatch Counties.

The number of sales transactions fell to 166, down 55.7 percent from 375 transactions a year ago, according to the report.

Park City proper accounted for a larger percentage of those overall sales, and the Snyderville Basin accounted for less. Single-family homes accounted for a larger percentage of overall sales,…
